In the expansive landscape of Scandinavian music, Audun Aschim stands as a relentless wanderer, journeying across the vast and varied terrains of sonic shadows.

Aschim’s focus and approach to atmospheric dramaturgy and storytelling has lead to a number of commission works and collaborations with renowned ensembles such as  The Norwegian Soloist Choir, Ensemble 96 and SISU Percussion Trio, The Norwegian Wind Ensemble, The Norwegian Radio Orchestra Chamber Music Series, for renowned artists like Nils Petter Molvær, Eivind Aarset, Arve Henriksen, Catharina Chen, Kate Pendry, Tari Khan and Ragnhild Hemsing.

With his melding of various creative disciplines and genres, Audun crafts original productions acclaimed for their innovative musical narratives, dramatic structures, and interdisciplinary perspectives, often enriched with visual elements.

Audun’s debut album Mythos with harp, drums and guitar came in 2019, with a mix of jazz and classical improvisers, bridging his desire for imaginative sound on his own premise. Hailed as «extraordinary beautiful music across boundaries» by Nettavisen. He has been avidly touring internationally, both individually and with his own ensemble, simultaneously preserving his dynamic identity as a composer-performer.

Other notable commissions include Opening concert for Mela festival’s 20th jubilee 2022 in Oslo City Hall together with Molvær and Jo Berger Myhre, Anástasis the opening concert for Hamar Jazzfestival 2021 and «The Ballad Of Little Wolf» for Klassisk på Park together with Kate Pendry, “Blót” for SISU Percussion Trio and Ensemble 96, as well as “Cryptics” commissioned and performed on the Norwegian radio Orchestra Chamber music series.

With a notable repertoire in film scoring, Audun has composed more than 15 film scores, collaborating with directors from Norway, Poland, Ukraine, and the Faroe Islands.
